ORANGE KNOWLEDGE PROGRAMME SCHOLARSHIP

The Orange Knowledge Program is a €200 million Dutch scholarship and global development initiative that is offered in 53 developing nations and is run by Nuffic, a Dutch non-profit that supports education for development. The OKP scholarship is a 100% full scholarship that covers the entire tuition for the Business School Netherlands International Action Learning MBA as well as Masterclasses in Food Security or Water Management, as well as related expenditures.

Orange Knowledge Program Scholarship Requirements

Following are the requirements for scholarship applicants:

The applicant for the scholarship is employed by one of the following national and/or local organizations: commissions, NGOs, secondary or higher educational institutions, universities, or the commercial sector.
Applicants for scholarships are not permitted to work for: Bilateral or multilateral organizations; Internationally active non-governmental organizations that promote social causes including development cooperation, environmental protection, human rights, or health.
The scholarship candidate is a professional who, due to his or her (1) position, (2) numerous years of relevant work experience, and (3) networks within a theme relevant to local development, is in a position to put what he or she has learned into practice or who, through his or her employer, may be able to do so.
The applicant for the scholarship is a citizen of, currently resides in, and is employed in one of the nations listed on the OKP Country List
The scholarship candidate has a current photo ID.
The candidate for the scholarship has been accepted to the program or course for which he or she is seeking an OKP award.
If the local government requested one, the scholarship applicant included a government statement with the scholarship application.
The scholarship applicant provides proof that the proposed amount of co-funding is available to support the research.
The employer of the scholarship applicant supports the scholarship application with a glowing recommendation, confirms that it will continue to pay the scholarship recipient’s salary throughout the program, and promises to provide the recipient with an opportunity to put what he or she has learned into practice upon return.

If you are a citizen of one of the following countries and are employed there, you may be eligible for an Orange Knowledge Programme scholarship: Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Colombia, Congo (DRC), Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen and Zambia.

Selection process for Orange Knowledge Program Scholarships

If your application satisfies the requirements for Orange Knowledge Program scholarship, the Dutch institution may nominate you for one.

The steps are as follows:

The Dutch institution submits a grant request to Nuffic requesting funding for eligible scholarship applications.
The relevant Netherlands Embassy will review each application to determine its eligibility and will grade it in accordance with the eligibility standards and the Embassy’s national focus area (s).
Only legitimate applications will be considered further. Applications that don’t fit the requirements will be turned down.
The number of applicants, the deadline budget, and the caliber and suitability of the submissions will all play a role in the decision-making process.
Nominated candidates will be informed of the results of the Dutch institution’s selection process.
